In 1995, West joined the cast of the CBS drama As the World Turns in the job of Carly Tenney. She held the job from April 11, 1995, to May 8, 1996. West later came back to the job on September 10, 1997, staying on the arrangement, until its TV finale on September 17, 2010.
West has gotten various distinctions for her depiction of Carly, including designations for the Soap Opera Digest Award for Outstanding Villainess in 1996, for Outstanding Younger Lead Actress 1999 and 2000, for Favorite Couple in 2001, an honor which she imparted to co-star, Michael Park.
