Marc Morrone Biography

Marc Morrone is an American animal dealer and breeder and host of The Pet Shop with Marc Morrone for Mag Rack. He was born in 1960 in Bronx, New York.

He has a parakeet named Jinxie at the age of four. He adopted the pet. At 18, he had so many pets such that they could not fit in their house. He opened a pet store in 1978, Parrots of the World. It is still operational and it has grown into one very large business.

His TV career began on The Family Pet which was a News 12 Program. He later opened a cable show, Extra Help Pet Show which he later renamed to Metro Pets. His practice of crowding several animals in a small space on-camera was allegedly born of necessity Morrone claimed it was needed to keep the animals warm in the unheated television studio.

Because there were so many animals of different species altogether, it resulted in occasional scuffles between the animals. The local cable show led to Morrone’s guest appearances with Martha Stewart on her television program Martha Stewart Living, starting in 1997. In 2001, Hearst Entertainment began syndication of The Pet Shop With Marc Morrone.

Morrone Parrots Of The World

He is the owner of Parrots of the World Ltd. pet store in Rockville Centre, New York. The Long Island pet shop features one of the largest selection of Parrots, Reptiles, Fish, Ferrets, and exotic pets, along with a wide selection of pet merchandise and supplies.

With over 30 years of experience with birds, mammals, and reptiles of all kinds, there is no better place on the web to get the right information and expertise service you are looking for. Parrots of the World was started in 1978 as a small company that would import birds, mammals, and reptiles from Central and South America, Africa and Indonesia.

In 1986 the sale of birds that were imported to the United States was prohibited in New York State. So we then turned our attention to breeding these birds here in the United States and working cooperatively with other bird breeders. Now, a major portion of our business is to export birds, mammals and reptiles born here in the United States to other countries throughout the world so that they can be enjoyed as pets by people in such far off places as Japan, Chile, and Denmark.
