Leyna Nguyen is an American TV anchor and reporter in Los Angeles, Califonia. She is also a Vietnamese and she was born on December 13th, 1969.
She was born in Vietnam and migrated to the USA in 1975, settling in Minnesota. She graduated from Webster University in St Louis with a degree in Mass Communication. While in St Louis, Nguyen was the Morning Drive personality for Jazz Radio station WEBU and she was a substitute teacher for grades K through 6.
Nguyen has won the Emmy Award 3 times and she now anchors the 4 pm and 9 pm newscasts on KCAL-TV in Los Angeles. She was the first Newscaster to ever anchor for two stations in the same market, that is, KCBS and KCAL-TV thus making history.

Nguyen’s career started off as a Morning Drive personality for WEBU. She also worked as a substitute teacher for grades K to 6. In Georgia, she became an anchor for the WRDW-TV. She later became a reporter for KCRA-TV. She worked as both an anchor and a reporter for the station.
She later joined KCBS-TV and KCAL-TV in 1997. She has been working in this station since that time and her work is very evident. She is working as an anchor and newscaster.
She has also appeared in numerous TV shows and Movies including Boston Legal, NCIS, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and others. She is also a former miss Asia and has also been named the YWCA Woman of the Year.
Aside from her professional accomplishments, Nguyen has a non-profit organization, Love Across the Ocean, which benefits underprivileged school children in Vietnam and also assists refugees in Southern California. She has hobbies that include; Martial Arts, paragliding, music, and cooking.
