Jon Horst[Jonathan Randall Horst] is an American basketball general manager for the Milwaukee Bucks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Appointed on June 16, 2017. Previously he held the position of Director of Basketball Operations for the Bucks from April 2008 to June 2017.
From August 2007 to April 2008 he was the Manager of Basketball Operations for the Detroit Pistons.
While a player on the Rochester College basketball team. Horst won back-to-back the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Basketball Championships in 2004 and 2005.

To make ends meet Jon held down a series of jobs. Has worked nights at FedEx, did a setup for Bed, Bath & Beyond, and shoveled snow. Moreover, he also did odd jobs for the mobile home park where he lived.

In April 2008, Hammond was hired as the general manager of the Bucks. He brought Weltman with him as his assistant GM and wanted to bring Horst, too. The problem was, Dumars didn’t want to let him go. Jon made the tough choice to leave the Pistons[ a dream place to work for a Michigan kid] to go to Milwaukee as the Bucks’ director of basketball operations. In a move that was announced about a month after Hammond was hired.
In three months Weltman became the president of basketball operations for the Orlando Magic. Weltman hired Hammond, who had to leave the Bucks to be the Magic’s general manager. After a long week’s search, with a half-dozen candidates receiving interviews before Milwaukee’s ownership. They settled on him as the next general manager of the Bucks.

Milwaukee was the top-scoring team in the NBA in 2018-19 and finished the regular season with a top-five offense and defense. The Bucks also advanced past the First Round of the playoffs, and made it to the Eastern Conference Finals, for the first time since 2001.
